About The Diaspora Academy
The Diaspora Academy (TDA) is a premier online engagement and leadership institute, providing specialized consulting, training, and advisory services to diaspora leaders, businesses, nonprofits, and community organizers. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Manager to join our team and manage our programming, including online courses and consulting projects.
Position Overview
The Program Manager will oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of The Diaspora Academy’s programs, specifically our consulting projects and online course offerings. This role requires strong organizational skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple projects while ensuring high-quality program delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Development: Design and develop program content, ensuring alignment with The Diaspora Academy’s mission and goals.
- Program Implementation: Lead the implementation of consulting projects and online courses, coordinating timelines, resources, and stakeholder engagement.
- Budget and Finance: Manage program budgets, including financial tracking, forecasting, and ensuring programs are delivered on time and within budget.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Develop and oversee monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks to assess program performance and impact.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on program progress, outcomes, and recommendations for improvement to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in international development, education, public policy, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in program management, preferably within the international development or diaspora engagement sectors.
- Proven experience working with stakeholders in diaspora engagement and/or global development, including government agencies, non-profits, and diaspora communities.
- Proven track record in managing complex projects, including budget oversight and program evaluation.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent inter-personal skills, including cross-cultural communication
- Ability to meet in person two (2) times a week in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, hybrid environment, with a strong commitment to the mission of The Diaspora Academy.

We are looking for a highly skilled Marketing Director to lead our marketing strategy and oversee project-related campaigns that advance our mission of diaspora engagement and global impact.
Position Overview
The Marketing Director will be responsible for developing, executing, and overseeing The Diaspora Academy’s overall marketing strategy, including social media marketing, media outreach, and project-based campaigns. The ideal candidate is a creative, strategic thinker with a proven track record in launching successful marketing initiatives, managing media relations, and effectively targeting diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Marketing Strategy Development: Create and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with The Diaspora Academy’s mission and goals, ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms.
- Campaign Management: Develop and launch marketing campaigns for both TDA’s ongoing programs and specific projects, including digital, social media, and content marketing.
- Social Media Marketing: Lead and oversee social media marketing efforts to engage and grow The Diaspora Academy’s online presence across various platforms.
- Media Outreach: Identify and engage with media outlets, build relationships with key journalists and influencers, and secure coverage for The Diaspora Academy’s initiatives.
- Targeting Diverse Audiences: Develop marketing strategies that effectively target and engage diverse audiences, including Black, immigrant, and diaspora communities. Build relationships with diaspora media outlets to amplify TDA’s message.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, social media marketing, marketing campaigns, and media outreach.
- Proven experience developing and executing marketing strategies targeting diverse audiences, particularly Black, immigrant, and diaspora communities.
- Strong media relations skills, with experience working with diaspora media outlets.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- Excellent inter-personal skills, including cross-cultural communication
- Ability to meet in person two (2) times a week in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.

The Diaspora Academy (TDA) is a premier online engagement and leadership institute, providing specialized consulting, training, and advisory services to diaspora leaders, businesses, nonprofits, and community organizers. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Intern to support our marketing and outreach efforts, particularly in the African diaspora community in the United States.
Position Overview
The Marketing Intern will conduct basic African diaspora market research in the United States, engage with African diaspora media, support social media marketing efforts, and assist with day-to-day administrative tasks. This position offers hands-on experience in marketing research, diaspora outreach, and digital marketing, with the opportunity to contribute to the growth of The Diaspora Academy’s engagement with diaspora communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Research: Conduct research on the African diaspora market in the U.S., identifying trends, key media outlets, and opportunities for engagement.
- Social Media Marketing: Support the development and execution of social media marketing strategies to engage with the African diaspora across platforms.
- Media Engagement: Assist in identifying and engaging with African diaspora media outlets for partnerships and outreach efforts.
- Administrative Support: Assist with day-to-day administrative duties related to marketing, including scheduling, organizing marketing materials, and preparing reports.
- Content Creation: Support the creation and curation of content for social media and other digital platforms.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in marketing research, social media marketing, or diaspora outreach.
- Knowledge or experience working with the African diaspora in the U.S. is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of the U.S. market and media landscape.
- Experience using social media platforms for marketing and engagement.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote work environment.
- Based in the United States or experienced in working with the U.S. market.
