Your diaspora experience is your edge

The Diaspora Leadership Program makes it executable

Most diaspora leaders have the vision. Few have the framework. In 3 weeks, you’ll have both — plus a constituency map, a diaspora vision statement, and a strategy you can run the moment the program ends.

You’ve built a career. You’ve built a life.

Your diaspora goals are still waiting

You know the impact you want to make. You’ve thought about it on flights home, in conversations with family, and in boardrooms where your community is discussed by people who don’t share your perspective.

Whether you’re an executive ready to invest, relocate, or build in your homeland, a global development professional integrating your diaspora perspective into your work, a second-generation leader preparing to engage your homeland with confidence, or a consultant serving diaspora communities, you’re ready to move from intention to action.

You understand the stakes. You cannot afford to learn the hard way once you are there.

You have the commitment. You have the expertise. You have the resources. What you need is the structure that turns all of that into execution, before you need it.

Other trainings were not built for Your Diaspora Experience

General leadership programs gave you tools for your career. They did not give you a framework for diaspora work: the generational complexity, the community dynamics, the cultural navigation, and the discipline of sustaining impact across borders and expectations.

Professional development programs were built for your industry, not for the decisions you are facing about homeland investment, business entry, or reconnection. These are decisions that carry real financial, relational, and reputational weight for you and the cost of going in underprepared is high.

The Diaspora Leadership Program was built for exactly these needs. This is where you build the preparation that protects your investment and multiplies your impact. This is where you create the spaces you wish existed: for your community, for your goals, and for the part of your diaspora experience that deserves a real strategy behind it.

I built these frameworks because the field needed them and so did I

I am a lawyer whose first professional experience was working in Eritrea, my ancestral homeland. From there I moved into policy on Capitol Hill, then into global development, and across all of it

I watched diaspora communities drive real economic, social, and cultural outcomes with little to no institutional support, no frameworks, and no partners prepared to meet them at their level.

I founded The Diaspora Academy because that gap was solvable. I built the SIR framework, the Diaspora Journey Roadmap, the Diaspora Readiness Score and the 9As Framework because diaspora leaders deserved tools built specifically for this work.

The Diaspora Leadership Program puts every one of those tools in your hands, with a cohort of peers carrying the same kind of vision you are.

What participants say about this Program

Here’s what changes:

Before the Diaspora Leadership Program

Your diaspora goals and professional life operate in parallel, connected by your diaspora experience but separated due to the absence of a useful framework.

You are making decisions about investing in your ancestral homeland, starting a business, or serving the community without a structured approach.

The stakes are real, the margin for error is small, and the durable outcomes you are building toward are still ahead of you.

After the Diaspora Leadership Program

You carry a nuanced diaspora framework that makes your decisions sharper and your credibility clear.  Colleagues, community members and other diaspora changemakers deeply value your insights.

You have a diaspora vision statement that is proposal-ready, a constituency map that names your stakeholders, and a strategy for communicating your impact.

Your diaspora perspective and your professional expertise are one integrated strategy you know how to run.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I can’t attend a live session?

All three sessions are recorded and available through your lifetime TDA portal access. Attending live gives you the cohort experience and real-time discussion that make this program distinctively valuable. If you need to miss a session, you will have everything you need to stay current and complete your work.

Plan for the two-hour live session plus two to three hours of workbook and reflection time per week. Thursday check-ins are optional and run approximately 45 minutes. This is a focused, three-week commitment with a clear end date and immediate outputs.

The DLP serves professionals at every stage, from emerging leaders entering the field to senior executives who have been doing diaspora work for years and are ready to organize that experience into a strategic framework. What matters is that you arrive with a clear diaspora goal and a commitment to work on it.

Many participants submit the DLP for professional development reimbursement. An employer reimbursement letter template is available to download on the DLP page. If your organization carries a learning and development, workforce capability, or global programming budget, this program qualifies.

Full payment and 2 or 3 installment plans are available at checkout. Payment plan options are available through October 12.

Your workbook, all recordings, and all program materials stay with you through lifetime TDA portal access. You also join the TDA Changemakers Community Circle, a community of alumni and current cohort members building diaspora impact with the same seriousness you are.

The October 2026 cohort is open!
This is where your diaspora goals become a strategy you can execute

You have spent years building expertise, building relationships, and building a clear sense of what your diaspora experience means to you and what you want it to produce. The Diaspora Leadership Program gives all of that a framework, a cohort, and a set of tools that make the next chapter of your diaspora work something you can plan, measure, and sustain.

We built this for you. Show up and build with us.
